Carnation Flower Class

DATE: SATURDAY 7th September

TIME: 3 HOURS approx

The beautiful carnation flower - symbolising fascination, distinction and love. They are traditionally given as a sign of gratitude and affection, and are a popular choice for gifting to a loved one in the form of a bouquet.

And so, here we are to give you the skills to create your own carnation sugar flower arrangement to adorn your loved one's dessert or cake!

Studio Cakes is the home of beautiful sugar flowers, and we are so pleased to again be offering you the chance to learn from one of Brisbane's up-and-coming sugar artists, Flynn Mattner.

Over the course of 3 hours, you'll step behind the scenes of our store in to our relaxed bakery environment, where we will provide tea, coffee and conversation. Start by admiring Flynn's unique sugar flower style in this soft and delicate carnation flower arrangement. But the best is yet to come, because by the time the class is over you'll have the knowledge to make your own!

Carnations are one of the most versatile sugar flowers for decorating. Make it large for a statement piece on birthday or wedding cakes. Or, adapt for smaller carnations to make lovely detailed filler flowers.

Whether you're a seasoned decorator or just beginning, you'll be amazed at what you can create with Flynn's guidance.

Creating your own flowers is a wonderfully rewarding craft, and the skills are transferable in all sorts of ways, including working with fondant and figurines. Flynn will introduce you to a premium brand of flower paste, as you're shown how to colour, roll, cut and arrange the paste in to the likeness of this gorgeous floral spray.

Each student takes home their creation at the completion of the class, but most importantly you will be expanding your skills!

All equipment is provided, and any time you book a class at Studio Cakes, you enjoy a 10% class participation discount in our retail store!

Don't delay, because seats are limited!

We hope to see you there!

We offer small class sizes so everyone can get the best out of the lesson. For this reason, we do not provide refunds for no-shows, mistaken dates or last minute cancellations (within 48 hours). Please understand that this means someone else has missed out on that ticket, so our refund terms are strict in this regard. If you can't make your lesson, consider inviting a friend or family member and we will be happy to welcome them in your place.

We require a minimum of 2 people for a class to run. We are happy to take group bookings on other dates than those listed, pending availability. Please enquire for further information.

Our classes start promptly and late arrival may mean you miss out on some parts of the class.

Class sizes are capped and you will not be able to purchase tickets above the limit for that event. (For example, if you are wanting two tickets but you can only select one ticket when booking online, this means there is only one spot remaining for this class. You will not be able to purchase two tickets in this instance.)

Please contact us on 3355 3443 if you would like to discuss placing a booking over the phone, we are here to help!
